Free help from Warm Thuis Zwolle is a success

More than 250 registrations have already been received for making homes more sustainable

Since last year, more and more Zwolle residents have been in trouble due to high energy prices. That is why the municipality of Zwolle received a one-off subsidy from the government to help residents with a low income. This is how Warm Thuis Zwolle was born: a collaboration between local organizations that makes homes more sustainable for people who cannot afford it themselves. That is paying off. More than 250 households have already registered. And you can still do that via this page .

Help from Warm Thuis is free

Eligible households receive free advice from an energy coach, free insulation material and a handyman who carries out the job for free. For tenants, these are small measures, such as LED lighting or closing cracks. These are sometimes also major measures for homeowners. For example, facade insulation, floor insulation or new glazing. In the case of major measures, the contractor will come by for free implementation.

Satisfied homeowner

One of those homeowners is Mr. Marsman. In his house, the single glazing on the top floor was replaced with new double glazing. “I am very happy that the glazing has been replaced. And I’m also curious about what savings it will bring me,” he says. One thing is certain: much less heat will be lost.

Help that really helps people

The energy coach examines together with the executor where the greatest benefits can be achieved in the home. Michiel van Willigen, councilor for Equality of Opportunity at the municipality of Zwolle: “Many people already apply all kinds of saving tips, but still have a very high energy bill. They would like to insulate their home, but simply do not have the money for it. Warm Thuis Zwolle is especially for these people.”

According to Energy Transition Councilor Arjan Spaans, the help from Warm Thuis Zwolle has an effect in various areas: “A better insulated house not only ensures a warm house in the winter, but also a cool house in the summer. This ensures comfortable living, is good for the environment and better for the wallet.”

Strength through cooperation

Through the collaboration between the municipality, the Voor Elkaar Zwolle foundation, Blauwvinger Energie, various neighborhood initiatives, housing associations and contractor Van Wijnen, forces are joined to help people as quickly and effectively as possible. Residents who want to do so can register via warmthuiszwolle.nl.

Other schemes for low-income residents
